Your Chamber Has Been Busy...

By Donna Benfield

It's been seven months since we have been able to deliver our newsletter to you through the Upper Valley Standard Journal and we are very excited to be able to once again have that opportunity.  The chamber has been very busy these past months still welcoming new businesses as well as bringing speakers in to our forums who are knowledgeable and informative to help each of you during these trying economic times.

We have brought Bob Jones onboard to help me visit each of our members to see if there is anything we can do to assist you in any way.  Besides being a past business owner, Bob is a past president of the chamber and knows full well what is required of businesses in today's environment and is willing to spend time to discuss ways that we as a chamber may be able to help you or direct you to those who can.

We are happy to see the numbers of visitors in town stopping in to our new location downtown.  It may be a little difficult for some to find us, so please, if you have the opportunity, direct them to our new location at 127 E. Main St., across the street from Alliance Title and the County Courthouse.  We are able to show them what there is to see as well as keep them here a little longer.  We invite you to come in as well.  You don't need to be a visitor to take advantage of books, brochures, maps and much more.  You, too, may decide to visit places you have never seen within an hour or two from home.

Our summer is filled with activities welcoming locals and visitors alike to join in and get to know our community better.  Join us for the upcoming Dance Festival, the RUSH Triathlon, the Madison County Fair, as well as the Farmers Markets every Friday evening.

We will be having a new event Saturday, September 11 from 11am to 4pm at Smith Park.  We will be honoring those families of our local National Guard Unit that will be deploying on September 17.  Please come to the park and join with others to wish them and their families the best.  We will be having food, entertainment, and fun!  Please mark your calendars.

If you would like to learn more about chamber activities, please give us a call and ask us to add you to our Monday Morning Mailing list.  Each and every Monday morning we send out an email blast with a calendar of events as well as many more items of interest for the upcoming weeks.  All we need is your email address.

We hope that your summer is everything you were wishing for!  See you around town...

And may business be good.
